About 3 a.m. on the morning after she had been

pirated Loung Young and six others called at 15 Bui Tai vai192 they carried four or five wicker baskets. After the baskets had been taken up staris they all left with the exception of Leung Young. The money was done up in rells wrapped in paper and some was in matting bags. Leung Young told me that they had pirated the "Shing Tai" and stele close en $20,000 in money.

On the following night the pirates came in twos and threes for their share. Leung Young paid out the money, he had

a list of names and the amount each was to get. Each share oame

Police (Chinese). Tan Ngạn Chi is, I believe, a detective, he

is known as such. The two men who called on Leung Young two days before the piracy also called and were paid $1,100 each by Leung Young. They were paid at 15 Яui Tai Fai two nights after the piracy.

Toung Young told me that they had come from a hair dressing shop at Yaumati, he called one of them "Ko Lo Wai", he said they had arranged the pirsay for then. Leung Young also said that there was another man on board the ship who had assisted them in putting their plans through, he did not mention his neme or what he was on board. He also spoke of another man

who was in some way connected with the pirated vessel and who

received an equal share (1.8. $1,100).

A few days after the piracy of the 8.8."Shing Tai", 楊葉 Young Ip called on Leung Yeung at 15, Sui Tai Vai and said that Long Wai should be paid as he was in the position to give them). the "tip" if anything was doing. He also spoke about the Police share. I am of the opinion that Leung Young paid $100 to Young Ip for Leung Wal. As far as I remember this is what he said "You have pirated the "Shing Tai" you had better give $100 in notes to Loung Wai". If anyone should come to arrest you hạ would know and could give you the word to clear out. The Police should also get some for their expenses". On the following
